3-week group project for Engineering Design I
Research and Teardown
My team of three was given an Oral-B electric toothbrush to take apart and analyze. We focused on its physical design, the clarity of included instructions and warning messages, use procedures and off-nominal use cases. We took apart the toothbrush, documenting every component. We compiled our information to write a CONOPS and function structure diagram for the product.
CAD and Rendering
We re-created the individual components of the toothbrush as parts and made exploded and compact assemblies using SOLIDWORKS. We rendered the assemblies using photorealistic materials in AutoCAD.
